I’m pretty adaptable and change is usually my friend. Most of the time. In fact I get kind of restless if things stay the same for too long. It can be a good thing and a bad thing.
When it comes to babies though, I like to think that it falls into the former.
You see, I’m one of those annoying people who LOVES not finding out the sex of my unborn baby.
The first time around it was such a thrill playing the guessing game for 40 whole weeks. Would we have a boy or a girl? What would he/she look like?
When Gus arrived we were over the moon to have a son and the surprise was well worth the wait.
Second time around we also decided not to find out the gender of our baby. I was convinced it would be a girl however. My pregnancy was totally different, and after all, that’s what happens isn’t it….you get one of each?
Well it turns out every old wive’s tale was wrong and we welcomed another beautiful and much loved baby boy, our gorgeous Eddie!
Again there wasn’t an ounce of disappointment.
I am now quickly approaching my third due date and the sex of this baby remains a mystery.
There is something about the not knowing, that helps get me through labour. The thrill of the surprise at the end of it all. And the honest truth is, as cliched as it sounds, all I want is a healthy baby.
So whatever this baby is, it will be welcomed with as much love and adoration as the previous two…and I can’t wait to share the surprise with you all.
Did you chose to find out the sex of your baby?
